Repair or replace?

How long does a tank water heater last?
Most tank water heaters last around 8 to 12 years, depending on water quality and maintenance. If yours is in that range and leaking from the tank, replacement is usually the better value.
Can you install a water heater I bought myself?
Yes. If you bought a unit on sale, MJ can pick it up and install it, including the venting, gas or electrical connections and code-required parts.
Is tankless worth it?
Tankless units cost more up front but give endless hot water and save space. They suit some homes better than others; MJ will tell you honestly whether it pays off for your household.
