If you smell gas
Leave the house right away. Don’t switch lights or appliances on or off, and don’t use your phone inside. Once you’re outside, call your gas utility’s emergency line (BGE in central Maryland and Baltimore, or Washington Gas in Montgomery County) or 911. Once the utility has made it safe, call MJ for the repair.
Permits and safety
Gas line work is pressure-tested and permitted where your county requires it. You get work that passes inspection and appliances that are connected correctly.
Common questions
Can a regular plumber do gas work in Maryland?
Gas fitting in Maryland requires a gasfitter license. MJ holds both the master plumber and gasfitter licenses.
Can you switch my range or dryer from electric to gas?
If gas is already in the house, usually yes: MJ runs a new line to the appliance location and connects it.
Do you install gas lines for grills and fire pits?
Yes. A permanent line to an outdoor grill or fire pit means no more propane tanks.
